Every Saturday of the summer, from June 22nd to September 21st, the Parc Marie-Victorin will offer a free horticultural workshop to the visitors. During your visit, come and learn more on a variety of subjects such as the art of the bonsais, compost, pruning technique, pollination and much more! The workshops will start at 10 am. Don’t miss the opportunity to eat at our Bistro-terrace the Nectar after the workshop. No need to reserve. There are special rates for the entrance fee. The complete program is available here.
In order to highlight the trends and discoveries in the horticultural world in 2020 and 2021, we have created a circuit which includes 12 stations called the discoveries circuit. Thanks to the participation of multiple Canadian and American seed companies and grain merchants, we are able to present 12 trends in horticulture through different stations. Do you know about foodscaping? About Epiphytes? Come and discover these trends and crossbreeds that will surely charm you.
In the heart of the luxuriant gardens, there’s a new white grand marquee with an entirely windowed facade, prepared to welcome any event. With 8 000 square feet, it can receive from 50 to 500 guests using a banquet style. Placed on a slab of concrete, the marquee offers electricity, a kitchen, a complete sanitary unit and even a stage in order to make your events even more entertaining. Furthermore, the surrounding area lights up in the evening for a magical atmosphere! It’s possible to reserve this infrastructure for your wedding, receptions, cooperative reunions and much more! For more details, contact Isabelle Mailhot, event coordinator.
The Parc Marie-Victorin already offers an audioguide, but this year, we decided to also offer a paper guide in order to facilitate your visit in our gardens. Inside the guide, you will find horticultural facts, artistic and entertaining facts about the beautifully arranged plants as well as facts on the other charms of the Parc. Did you know that the white admiral butterfly is the emblem of the province of Quebec? Did you know that carpenter ants are incredibly strong in comparison to humans? They can carry up to 50 times their own weight. The 45 stations of the circuit are represented with illustrations. This also makes a great souvenir to bring back home. For only $ 3, you will have the opportunity to bring with you some of the Parc’s best kept secrets!
Due to a growing demand, the Parc Marie-Victorin now has two electronic charging stations situated in the parking lot. These are the only free charging stations within a 30 kilometer range. This is a great way to discover our region while being ecological. While waiting for your car to be completely recharged, why not come in and have an ice cream in our bistro or by taking an express trip to the warm tropics in our tropical greenhouse. Additionally, while visiting our gardens, stay alert to discover other eco-responsible measures that we have put in place as well as our four renewable sources of energy. Thank you to our partner Boralex.
